Grabdenkmáler im Maingebiet vom anfang des XIV. jahrhunderts bis z um eintritt der renaissance
An art-historical study by Hans Börger, published in Leipzig in 1907, cataloguing carved sepulchral monuments in the Main river region from the early fourteenth century to the start of the Renaissance, written for scholars and students of medieval sculpture. The plates are photographs of upright tomb slabs: mitred bishops and clerics with croziers and blessing hands, set under Gothic canopies with pinnacles and small attendant saints, framed by inscription bands, heraldic shields and beasts underfoot — useful for Gothic frame and border structures, lettering ribbons, and full-length figure silhouettes.
