Graeco-Egyptian glass
A 1905 museum catalogue of ancient glass in the Egyptian Museum, compiled by Campbell Cowan Edgar for the Service des Antiquités and printed in Cairo by the Institut français d'archéologie orientale for archaeologists and curators. The plates are halftone photographs of single vessels against blank grounds, giving strong dark silhouettes of jugs, flasks and cups with trailed handles and ribbed bodies that cut cleanly for use as shapes, stamps or repeated profile motifs.
