Great inventions and discoveries
A school reader on inventions written by Willis Duff Piercy and published by Charles E. Merrill in New York in 1911 for American classroom use. The plates are halftone bust portraits of nineteenth-century inventors, most in dark coats, stocks and bow ties against plain vignetted grounds, useful as stock faces, oval vignette masks, and coarse-screen halftone texture.
