Great masters of Dutch and Flemish painting
An art-historical survey of Dutch and Flemish painters by the Berlin museum director Wilhelm von Bode, translated by Margaret L. Clarke and published in London and New York in 1909 for collectors and students. The plates are dark monochrome halftones of paintings: tavern and parlour interiors, riverside shipping under wide skies, horsemen under trees, useful for deep tonal backgrounds and silhouetted figure groups.
