A collector's account of Greek coinage paired with travel notes on the cities that struck it, written by John Ward with a catalogue by British Museum numismatist George Francis Hill and published by John Murray in London in 1902 for collectors and antiquarians. Halftone photographs enlarge coin heads and relief friezes and record broken statuary, inscribed bases and column capitals at ruined sites, giving designers profile portraits, battle-scene bands and weathered stone texture in soft grey tones.
