Greek inscriptions
A museum catalogue of the Greek inscriptions held by the Egyptian Museum in Cairo, compiled by Joseph Grafton Milne for the Egyptian antiquities service and printed at Oxford in 1905 for epigraphers and archaeologists. The plates are halftone photographs of carved stone stelae shot flat against dark cloth with a measuring rod at one edge, showing incised Greek capitals in ruled columns beside worn Egyptian relief figures, jackals and winged discs, useful for weathered lettering, stone texture and cut-letter shapes.
