Greek sculpture
A catalogue of Greek sculpture in the Egyptian Museum, compiled by Campbell Cowan Edgar for the Service des Antiquités and printed in Cairo in 1903 for archaeologists and museum curators. Halftone photographs record marble and limestone fragments against plain grounds: bearded heads, draped torsos, relief panels with incised Greek lettering, and broken reliefs whose chipped edges and raking light give designers ready-made silhouettes, drapery folds, and weathered stone textures.
