A posthumous collection of Johann Friedrich Christ's essays on ancient literature, art, coins, gems and paleography, edited by Johann Carl Zeune and printed in Leipzig by Ulrich Christian Saalbach in 1776 for scholars and antiquarians. Alongside photographs of the worn calf binding with gilt fillet, the plates are small rococo typographic ornaments: C-scroll and acanthus headpieces framing a pelican in her piety and a straw beehive with swarming bees in a landscape.
