Amédée François Frézier's treatise on stereotomy, the geometry of cutting stone and timber for vaults, arches and fortification work, published in Paris by Charles-Antoine Jombert in 1754 for architects, masons and military engineers. The engraved plates, numbered and lettered throughout, combine fine-line constructions of arcs, ellipses and projection rays with small shaded perspectives of masonry openings, squinches and cut voussoirs, offering designers dense line geometry and isolated architectural solids.
