A four-volume biographical catalogue of Ferrarese painters and sculptors and their works, written by Cesare Cittadella and printed by Francesco Pomatelli in Ferrara in 1782 for local antiquarians and collectors. The engraved plates are bust portraits set in beaded oval frames with the sitter's name and trade lettered around the rim, against finely ruled horizontal hatching: ready-made frame devices and curved lettering models.
