Storia della pittura in Italia dal secolo II al secolo XVI

Crowe, J. A. (Joseph Archer), 1825-1896, Cavalcaselle, G. B. (Giovanni Battista), 1820-1897, Mazza, Alfredo · 1883 · Firenze : Le Monnier · 22 pictures

An Italian edition of Crowe and Cavalcaselle's survey of painting in Italy from the second to the sixteenth century, issued in Florence by Le Monnier in 1883 for art historians, students and collectors. Plates are plain outline engravings copying frescoes and mosaics — Giotto's Assisi vault allegories, Neapolitan crucifixions, a Santa Maria Maggiore apse — giving vault and lunette compositions, crowd groupings and ornamental borders as clean line.
