The chemistry of paints and painting
A technical handbook on pigments, media and artists' materials by the chemist Arthur Herbert Church, published in London by Seeley & Co. in 1890 for painters, students and colour manufacturers. The scanned pages here are mainly blank endpapers and the mottled tan-and-cream patterned boards of the binding, with an 1891 owner's inscription in ink — useful as paper textures, foxing overlays, small-scale vermiculate cover pattern and specimen handwriting.
