Cours de peinture par principes
Roger de Piles's treatise on the principles of painting, first issued in 1708 and reprinted in Paris in 1791 by Jombert, Barrois and Firmin Didot for artists and connoisseurs. The scanned pages here are blank flyleaves and endpapers: laid paper with visible chain lines, brown foxing, show-through of type from facing leaves, and a penciled shelfmark, usable as aged paper textures and backgrounds.
