History of the ceramic art. A descriptive and philosophical study of the pottery of all ages and all nations
Albert Jacquemart's survey of pottery across periods and countries, translated by Mrs. Bury Palliser and issued in New York by Scribner, Armstrong in 1877 for collectors and students of ceramics. Wood engravings show single vessels in outline and fine hatching — ewers, long-necked bottles, amphorae, plates — with painted arabesques, grotesques, crests and border bands isolated on blank ground.
