Brick and marble in the middle ages: notes of a tour in the north of Italy
An architect's travel study of medieval North Italian building, written and drawn by George Edmund Street and published by John Murray in London in 1855 for British architects and Gothic Revival students. Wood-engraved and lithographed plates give brick window tracery, cusped two-light openings, vaulted church interiors and civic palace elevations in fine outline with hatched shadow, useful for pattern detail and architectural line motifs.
