Gli oscvri et dificili passi dell'opera ionica di Vitrvvio
A 1558 Mantuan treatise in which the architect Giovanni Battista Bertano explains the obscure and difficult passages on the Ionic order in Vitruvius, printed by Venturino Ruffinello for architects, masons and humanist readers. The plates are unshaded outline elevations of pedestals, columned fronts and pediments, ruled with lettered dimension scales down the margin, and several survive only as faint show-through on blank leaves; useful for thin measured linework, proportion notation and ghostly offset textures.
