Emblemes de l'amour diuin
A French emblem book after Otto van Veen's Amoris divini emblemata, engraved and sold by Pierre Landry in Paris around 1600, pairing Latin mottoes with French verse for devout readers. Each plate sets haloed Divine Love and the winged soul in open landscapes with churches, hills and clouds, giving designers small figure vignettes, banner mottoes and ruled caption frames.
