Olla-Podrida
An album of comic wood engravings by the French caricaturist Cham (Amédée de Noé), issued in Paris by Arnauld de Vresse in 1859 for readers of cheap illustrated humour sheets. The plates run as paired or quartered panels with captions in French below, sketching crowds at the Salon, crinolined women, soldiers and top-hatted men in fast, scratchy line; useful for figure silhouettes, period costume shorthand and panel layouts with space for text.
