A yearly album of newspaper caricatures by Cham (Amédée de Noé), issued in Paris by Arnauld de Vresse in 1858 for readers following the year's news and social fads. Small wood-engraved scenes with captions show street crowds, colonial and Chinese subjects, night encounters and gesturing figures, drawn in loose hatching that suits cutouts, spot illustration and comic-strip layouts.
