Élite des monuments céramographiques; matériaux pour l'histoire des religions et des moeurs de l'antiquité;
A four-volume scholarly survey of Greek and Etruscan painted vases, compiled by Charles Lenormant and Jean de Witte and issued in Paris from 1844 for antiquarians and students of ancient religion. The plates redraw red-figure scenes as flat orange figures on solid black grounds: winged Erotes, seated women, warriors, chairs and altars, with meander borders and isolated ornament suitable for silhouette and pattern work.
