Traité de mécanique céleste
Laplace's multi-volume treatise on celestial mechanics, tides and capillarity, printed in Paris by Charles Crapelet for Duprat and Courcier from 1798 and addressed to mathematicians and astronomers. The scanned pages carry no diagrams: what survives is neoclassical French letterpress — widely letterspaced capitals, hairline rules, small-caps imprints, plus a plain calf cover with a gilt fillet border and warm laid paper.
