A French architectural treatise written by the royal architect Philibert de l'Orme and printed by Fédéric Morel in Paris in 1568, addressed to builders, masons and patrons. The woodcuts are measured elevations and sections of columns, pedestals, cornices and Ionic volutes, annotated with dimension marks and hatched stonework, useful as line-drawn classical ornament and technical diagram texture.
