A German astrological and astronomical handbook printed by the heirs of Christian Egenolff at Frankfurt in 1564, compiling planetary influence, nativities, medical timing, and the construction and use of astrolabes, quadrants, compasses, sundials and nocturnals for physicians, calendar-makers and lay practitioners. Woodcuts run from lettered volvelle-style rings and concentric zodiac and hour dials to blackletter-labelled diagrams, small figure scenes of seated workers, and star-marked constellation beasts such as fish and sea-monsters, useful as circular chart frameworks, zodiac emblems and coarse-line figure vignettes.
