A practical essay on the art of colouring and painting landscapes in water colours : accompanied with ten engravings
A drawing manual by John Heaviside Clark, published in London by Edward Orme in 1807 to teach amateur and student watercolourists how to colour and paint landscapes, with ten engraved plates. The plates move from bare outline through grey wash to finished tint, giving designers monochrome landscape stages, cottage and tree studies, and ruled plate borders on aged paper.
