Opticks, or, A treatise of the reflexions, refractions, inflexions and colours of light ; Also two treatises of the species and magnitude of curvilinear figures
Isaac Newton's Opticks, first edition, printed in London in 1704 for the Royal Society's booksellers and addressed to natural philosophers and mathematicians. The plates are engraved line diagrams: ray bundles through prisms and lenses, lettered construction points, dotted arcs for angles of refraction, and zigzag and curve figures from the appended treatises on curvilinear figures.
