A French instructional manual on color mixing by the painter Ernest Hareux, published in Paris by Librairie Renouard around 1900 for art students and amateur painters. The plates reproduce loaded palettes as rows of numbered paint dabs—teardrop-shaped smears with brush-drag tails—printed on warm tan stock, usable as period color charts, muted palette references, and grids of organic blotted shapes.
