A 1756 Paris treatise on Jacob Christoph Le Blon's three-colour printing process, issued by Le Mercier and Nyon with material by Duhamel du Monceau for printers, engravers and amateurs of the new colour plates. The shown pictures are letterpress ornaments: banded rectangular headbands filled with rows of asterisk-like florets, and cast tailpieces of acanthus scrolls, urns and confronted birds, useful as rules, repeat fields and small centred devices.
