The theory of color in its relation to art and art-industry
A treatise on color theory by the German physicist Wilhelm von Bezold, annotated by Edward C. Pickering and issued in Boston by the chromolithographer Louis Prang in 1876 for painters, decorators, and manufacturers. The plates mix engineering-style optical diagrams — prism ray fans, reflection paths, lettered color circles with chords and concentric rings — with wood-engraved spinning discs whose fine radial hatching grades from white to black around inset dots; useful for line-drawn optics schematics and moiré-like tonal ring patterns.
