Colour : an elementary manual for students
An 1887 student manual on colour theory by chemist A. H. Church, published in London by Cassell with lithographed plates by Vincent Brooks, Day & Son for art and science students. Illustrations are hard-edged geometric diagrams: black bands and triangles testing afterimages, lettered colour wheels divided into sectors, prism ray paths, and stacked bars of engraved hatching and stipple.
