A four-volume technical manual on textile printing and dyeing by the French chemist Jean Persoz, published in Paris by V. Masson in 1846 for dyers, colourists and factory chemists. The plates are mounted swatches of printed cotton in one or two colours: white polka dots on madder red, wavy stripes in brown, small floral repeats and dense vein-like mottling.
