A two-volume catalogue of Louis XV's picture collection, compiled by engraver and Académie secretary François Bernard Lépicié and printed at the Imprimerie royale in Paris in 1752 for the court and the learned public. The plates indexed here are typographic ornaments: symmetrical woodcut headpieces and tailpieces built from scrollwork, acanthus, hanging drops, shell crests and fruit baskets on pedestals, useful as black-and-white dividers, spot ornaments and frame elements.
