I cesari in oro : raccolti nel Farnese museo, e pubblicati colle loro congrue interpretazioni
A catalogue of the Roman gold coins in the Farnese collection, compiled by the Jesuit antiquary Paolo Pedrusi and continued by Pietro Piovene, printed at Parma from 1694 for court patrons and scholars of numismatics. The plates line up numbered coins in columns, pairing laureate imperial profiles with reverses of standing deities, altars, animals, clasped hands and legends, giving designers ready-made roundel motifs, engraved lettering rings and repeatable grid layouts.
