André Félibien's printed record of the 1667 lectures given at the Académie royale de peinture et de sculpture, published in Paris by Frédéric Léonard in 1669 for court readers and academy members. The plates are engraved typographic ornament: horizontal headpieces of scrolling poppies and roses flanking a crowned French royal shield, plus winged putti holding laurel branches around a crowned cipher.
