Dictionnaire des arts de peinture, sculpture et gravure
A five-volume French dictionary of painting, sculpture and engraving compiled by Claude-Henri Watelet and Pierre-Charles Levesque, printed in Paris by Prault in 1792 for artists, students and collectors. The pictures are small letterpress woodcut headpieces and tailpieces: rayed monograms, tasselled canopies, rococo shell cartouches with flower swags, and an allegorical vignette of drawing tools under a radiant sun.
