Dictionnaire des arts de peinture, sculpture et gravure
A five-volume French dictionary of painting, sculpture and engraving terms, compiled by Claude-Henri Watelet and Pierre-Charles Levesque and printed by L. F. Prault in Paris in 1792 for artists, collectors and academicians. The pictures are small letterpress typographic ornaments: winged putti on acanthus scrolls, palmette fans, and flower-hung balustrades, usable as section breaks, rules and end-of-chapter marks.
