André Félibien's dialogues on the lives and works of ancient and modern painters, printed in Paris in 1666 by Pierre le Petit for court readers and connoisseurs of art theory. The plates are printer's ornaments: woodcut flower baskets with tulips and berries, an oval emblem of two storks over a river town, and engraved initials holding figures of Minerva.
