Etude sur l'architecture des jardins
A study of garden design by Alfred Darcel, published in Paris by Dunod in 1875 for architects, landscape gardeners and students of historic garden layout. The plates are engraved overhead plans in fine hatched line: parterres, bosquets, radiating allées, basins and clipped tree masses rendered as stippled clouds, useful as pattern fields, map textures and ornamental grid motifs.
