An auction catalogue printed for Henry Barford's February 1783 sale of the prints and drawings of the late London ironmonger Ingham Foster, issued to London dealers and collectors bidding in Covent Garden. The pages here carry no pictorial plates; what they offer is a buyer's own hammer prices written in brown iron-gall ink beside ruled leader dots and eighteenth-century type, a source of handwritten numerals, pound-shilling marks and dotted rule textures.
