Michel Huber's 1781 Leipzig French translation of Winckelmann's history of ancient art, printed by Breitkopf with vignettes after Adam Friedrich Oeser for scholars and collectors of Greek and Roman antiquities. The plates are fine-line etchings of nude and draped figures in allegorical groups, some set in oval frames or framed relief panels with garlands, others printed over the text block; useful for neoclassical figure groups, hatched backgrounds and headpiece ornament.
