Oud-Nederlandsche steden in haar ontstaan, groei en ontwikkeling

Brugmans, Hajo, 1868-1939, Peters, C. H. (Cornelis Hendrik) · 1909 · Leiden : A.W. Sijthoff · 351 pictures

A two-volume Dutch survey of the origin, growth and development of old Netherlandish towns, written by historian Hajo Brugmans with architect C. H. Peters and published by Sijthoff in Leiden in 1909 for general and antiquarian readers. The plates are grey-toned wash and halftone views of church interiors and street architecture: ribbed vaults receding in perspective, carved capitals, canopied tomb niches, wrought-iron screens and a small staffage figure for scale, useful for shading studies and Gothic ornament detail.
