Raccolta di lettere sulla pittura, scultura, ed architettura scritte da' più celebri professori che in dette art fiorirono dal secolo XV. al XVII
A multi-volume collection of letters on painting, sculpture, and architecture by artists of the fifteenth to seventeenth centuries, edited by Giovanni Gaetano Bottari with Luigi Crespi and printed in Rome by the heirs of Barbiellini in 1754 for antiquarians, connoisseurs, and working artists. The woodcut ornament runs to inhabited initials with winged masks and acanthus, strips of scrolling foliage with half-figure women, and small emblematic vignettes of a helmeted Roma seated with spear, shield, and amphitheatre, all usable as letterforms, borders, and chapter heads.
