A treatise of painting
Leonardo da Vinci's Trattato della pittura in its first English edition, printed in London in 1721 by J. Senex and W. Taylor as a working manual for painters and drawing students. The plates are outline engravings of nude male figures standing, striding, pointing and wrestling, plus proportion diagrams, drawn with plain contour lines and a single ground line, usable as clean figure silhouettes or anatomy references.
