Giovanni Baglione's biographies of painters, sculptors and architects active in Rome from 1572 to 1642, printed by Andrea Fei in Rome in 1642 for artists, patrons and collectors. The pictures are small letterpress woodcuts: scrolled cartouches with fleurs-de-lis, flower-filled urns flanked by volutes, and foliate initials, usable as spot ornament, headpieces and drop caps.
