The guide for piece-dyeing

Reisig, F. W · 1889 · New York : John Wiley & Sons · 5 pictures

F. W. Reisig's 1889 piece-dyeing manual, issued in New York by John Wiley & Sons as a working reference for dyers and woolen mill operatives. Its plates are mounted wool swatches cut as triangles and stacked into overlapping arrow columns, giving designers dated dye palettes—forest greens, madder browns, indigo and yellow, and a long range of blacks and purples—plus visible felt texture and cream mount paper.
