Guidobaldo del Monte's Perspectivae libri sex, printed at Pesaro in 1600, is a Latin treatise on the geometry of perspective written for mathematicians, painters, and architects. The 307 illustrations are woodcut line diagrams of lettered points, sight lines, picture planes and vanishing points, printed in the margins and text block, offering thin-line geometric webs and alphabetic labelling usable as abstract linear ornament.
