Habakkuk Bisset's Rolment of courtis
A Scottish Text Society edition of Habakkuk Bisset's early seventeenth-century Scots manual of court procedure, printed by W. Blackwood in Edinburgh in 1920 for members of the society and for legal and language scholars. The plates are photographic facsimiles: details of royal wax seals showing a crown, harp, thistle and crossed sceptres inside Latin ring inscriptions, and pages of manuscript in Scots secretary hand with looping flourishes and marginal notes, useful as heraldic roundels, seal borders and handwriting texture.
