Hadriani Iunii medici Emblemata
A Latin emblem book by the Haarlem physician and humanist Hadrianus Junius, printed by Christophe Plantin in Antwerp in 1565 with woodcuts cut by Geeraard van Kampen, Arnaud Nicolai and Pieter Huys, addressed to scholarly readers of emblems and mottoes. Alongside the small emblem scenes the pages carry dense moresque strapwork borders, repeating arabesque strips and corner blocks in black line on white, usable as tiling patterns, rules, frames and page furniture.
