A 1710 Augsburg dialogue by Caspar Mändl staging a debate on points of faith between a Catholic and a Lutheran gentleman, printed by Joseph Gruber in German blackletter for local devotional readers. The plates are repeated letterpress ornaments: pendant baroque tailpieces with fruit-and-flower swags, tasseled cords, scrolled cartouches and a small cherub head, usable as vignettes, dividers and frame motifs.
