Half-hours with the microscope; being a popular guide to the use of the microscope as a means of amusement and instruction
A popular microscopy manual by Edwin Lankester, published in London by Robert Hardwicke in 1863 for amateurs using the instrument at home for amusement and instruction. Numbered outline engravings crowd each plate with plant cells, stomata, wood fibres, diatoms, hairs, scales and freshwater animalcules, giving designers small isolated organic motifs, repeating cell grids and fine stipple textures.
