A handbook of pictorial art
A drawing and painting manual by Richard St. John Tyrwhitt with Alexander Macdonald, issued by the Clarendon Press at Oxford in 1875 for art students and teachers working through perspective, landscape and ornament exercises. Plates are pen-and-ink studies of cliffs, rock strata, gnarled trees and single leaf scrolls, ranging from bare outline to dense hatching, useful for texture fills and line-weight reference.
